Terms of Service
Effective August 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of NationKit (nationkit.ca), operated by Mentee Education Inc. ("Mentee," "we," "us"), an Ontario, Canada company. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the community or organization you represent.
1. What NationKit is
NationKit is a subscription platform for Indigenous communities and organizations that helps discover and track funding opportunities (grants, RFPs, and contribution agreements), prepare application materials, support member career searches, and produce branded materials such as email signatures and business cards. Depending on your plan, Mentee's team also prepares proposal drafts and provides advisory support.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Information you provide during intake must be accurate — matching quality depends on it. You confirm you have authority to act for the community or organization named on the account, and that any career profiles and resumes you add for members are added with those members' knowledge and consent.
3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
- Paid plans renew automatically (monthly or annually) until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your full card details.
- You may cancel at any time; your plan remains active until the end of the period already paid for. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- If payment fails and cannot be collected after Stripe's automatic retries, or if a subscription is cancelled, account sign-in may be paused. We do not delete your data when an account is paused — it is retained and access is restored when the subscription resumes.
- Founding pricing stays in effect for as long as the subscription remains continuously active.
4. Your data belongs to you
Your community profile, intake responses, member career profiles, resumes, and documents remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to store and process them solely to operate the service for you. You can request an export of your data, or its deletion, at any time by emailing info@mentee.ca.
5. Opportunities, matches, and proposals
- Funding and job opportunities are gathered from third-party sources. We work to keep listings accurate and current, but details (deadlines, amounts, eligibility) should always be verified with the original funder or employer before you rely on them.
- Match scores are guidance, not eligibility determinations.
- Proposal drafts and application materials are prepared for your review. You are responsible for reviewing, approving, and submitting any application, and for its accuracy.
- We do not guarantee funding awards, grant approvals, interviews, or employment outcomes.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to access other accounts' data, uploading unlawful or malicious content, reselling the service without our written agreement, or using it to misrepresent an application to a funder or employer.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep NationKit available and improving continuously, and may add, change, or retire features over time. We may perform maintenance that briefly interrupts access. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mentee's total liability arising out of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made by funders, employers, or other third parties.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or derogate from the rights of any First Nation or Indigenous government.
10. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms here and note the new effective date; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. Questions? info@mentee.ca.
